The Border

The thin, fluffy grey and white she-cat nimbly padded along the border. She stopped at the border and breathed in the salty scents around her. "Smells.. Tangy," she said, frowning. "I dislike it," she shook her head and padded back.

A wild tabby gray kit padded towards the area when she noticed what her Dad had once called a Thunderpath, that the twolegs and their monsters moved around on.
"Hey, where am I..?!" she mewed, tiny paws quivering. She had only been wandering for a little while when, all of a sudden, she had happened upon this whole line of strong cat scents she'd never smelled before. "What is this place, and how did I get here?" she wondered quietly to herself, green eyes glinting blue in the sunlight. The roar of water sounded behind her and a slight breeze picked up.
"Hellooooo! Whoever can hear me, can you tell me where I am?" she called dimly into thin air.
She didn't know that she was so close to a clan. How could she have known? Either way, she'd almost crossed the border. Trouble was sure to find its way to her, and soon...

WhisperingStar was padding along the border and stopped when she saw the kit. She cocked her grey head and padded towards the small cat. "Hello, little one. Who are you?" She meowed, and offered a small welcoming smile.

(OOC: Oh. Wow. My response was late...)

"Uh, hi. I'm Cirrus. Who are you? I smelled another cat, but I don't know any of these scents," the little tabby she-kit mewed. Her sleepy green eyes widened at the sight of this stranger.

The grey leader smiled kindly. "I am the leader of TempestClan, WhisperingStar," She purred slightly, blinking her green eyes back at the kit. "And the scents you are probably smelling is ours, and the mosters that come down these paths," The she suggested warrmly. "What are you doing out here all alone?" She meowed, frowning in concern.

"Long story," the gray she-kit mewed, though she began to tell it as simply as she could. "My Daddy was born in a "clan" that he liked to tell me about, but the twolegs caught him. He found my Mommy with the twolegs. When they took Daddy away from us again, my two littermates and I ran away with Mommy. Mommy and one of my littermates couldn't be with us anymore so I got lost. I've been here for about a moon now, meeting the other rogues and loners."

The grey leader frowned slightly at the last comment. "Mmm... Cirrus, do you need any help? It is dreadfully cold, and only just beginning to have prey roam once more..." The leader's pretty green eyes were concerned.

"Um, I think I'll be fine. I mean, sure, I haven't caught anything since I found a mouse den about a third of a moon ago and my den froze over about two moons back, but at least I don't have to worry about things like foxes in this weather. The best part of all is that even though my fur isn't that long, I feel so very warm all the time!" Cirrus grinned slightly, clueless as to the fact that such a high temperature might not be such a good thing. "Thanks for your offer, though... That's nice of you."

A patchy black and white she-cat appeared from behind Whisperingstar, having padded out of her hiding spot once she sighted the kit. "Are you sure, young kit?" She then said, softly, "Whisperingstar is offering you warmth, shelter and prey and you don't have to stay for ever. A kit your age should not be out in the cold," she meowed. Shadefeather's eyes were soft and worried.

"Well, maybe if you think I wouldn't be a burden..." Cirrus mewed quietly. She paused a moment longer before looking at the two older she-cats with her yellow-green eyes shining with a bluish gleam. "Okay. I'll stay a while," she meowed. "Thank you."

"A burden? Never," The leader smiled warmly. "We just need to get you out of the cold. ShadeFeather is right," The grey leader dipped her head to the she cat. "You may stay as long as you like. Hopefully through the worst of this LeafBare," She suggested and nosed the kit warmly toward TempestClan camp.

Cirrus nodded and followed behind the leader, crossing over the border.

An old tabby tom, waddled up to the border. His green eyes flashed triumphantly as he spotted TempestClan territory. "Made it!" He managed to wheeze out, exhausted from traveling all sun-high. Lowering his scarred up muzzle to sniff the borderline, the battle marked elder wrinkled up his nose. "So this is...Temp... TempestClan?" He meowed, the term sounding odd on his tongue. "The clans here sure have changed, I wonder if I'll see any of 'em clan-cats around?"

The grey leader trotted up to the border, narrowing her emrald eyes at the cat. "Who are you and what are you doing on the TempestClan border?" she meowed, hostility fluffing her grey tail.

The brown tom took one look at the Tempestclan leader and couldn't help but laugh full-heartedly. "Remembering how horrible the clans smell like- what does it look like young one?!" He rasped between chuckles, sitting down rather casually. He shook his head. "I bet that I've been around more than twice the moons you have and the smell still hasn't changed!" He wrinkled up his nose again, pulling a disgusted face.

The grey leader narrowed her eyes at him. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but you don't smell like a bundle of daisies either." Her green eyes studied him sharply. "Where did you come from and what is your business on my clan's border?" She repeated.

He looked at her with mock shock. "But I thought I smelled like the sweetest herbs in this side of the forest! I avoided all of 'em wet spots on the ground and everything!" The tom grinned, and merely shrugged. "What? A tom can't just travel 'round anymore?"

"No, just a little suspicious to find some rogue snooping on the border," The leader said nodding her head to the scented border. "And you're stinky without the puddles," She smirked slightly, staring at the cat.

"I'm not just some rouge! I am called Scar for a reason!" The tom's grin immediately vanished, as he fluffed up his battered tabby fur. He let out a hiss, getting offended really easily. "If I'm stinky, then the most beautiful she-cat in this here' forest smells like dirt." He sat down, nodding his head formally.

The only sign the leader showed of flinching was a flick of the ear, but the smirk stayed, complimenting her bright green eyes. "I am pretty aren't I?" She meowed pretending to toss her grey head. "So, you just came to The TempestClan border to nag the cats in charge of patrolling borders, if I'm not mistaken?" The leader stood tall, amusement out of her tone and eyes.

"Vain one aren't ya?" Scar returned the smirk, before frowning again. "Yeah, I here I'm pretty good at it too." He rasped sarcastically, giving the leader a dramatic eye roll. With a small ear flick, the elder rouge gave a small glance at the large scar that he had right across his shoulder; the glance was quick, and he immediately looked back at her afterwards. Scar cocked his head to the side.
"I'm guessin' yer one of 'em big important clan-cats right?"

The grey leader rolled her eyes in return. "Yes, I am -more or less- important." She flicked her fluffy grey tail and smirked again, mocking his way of talking as she mewed. " I'm guessin' yer not?" She cocked an eyebrow and continued, converting back to her own mew. "And it is my duty as an "important clan-cat" to handle things like this."

The tom's fur began to slowly rise, but he managed to force it flat. He let out a small irritated puff of air. "Nope! I'm not!" Scar announced rather proudly before revealing a slight smirk. "So it's yer duty to make fun of elders? We all can't sound fancy and serious, like yourself can we? The forest would be very boring!"

"I think not. A few more of them in this forest would do us some good." She meowed, looking around. "And you brought it upon yourself- being made fun of. I only do what others do to me first." She meowed looking back at him with emerald green eyes and a smirk.

"Yeah I guess I had it comin'!" Scar suddenly laughed, shaking his head slowly at himself. Then, getting a curious look in his eyes, the old tom tilted his head to the side. His neck crackled at the movement. "So... you'd be a 'leader' then? Come to think of it I never once caught your name either!" He blinked, once again returning the smirk. "I've met a few clan-cats when I was young but that's pretty much it!" He admitted honestly.

"The names WhisperingStar." She meowed, studying him with a less sharp gaze now. "What are you called?"

Out of the darkness of the bushes crept a long furred tom, just a little bit aways. His black and white fur blew slightly as a breeze picked it up from below and he took in his surroundings with a lingering glance, his haunting yellow eyes, staring at nothing, yet seeing it all. Something was slightly off about those eyes... Some little twist of an offset sort of hunger... A thirst... that had gone unquenched for years.... His ear was chipped and and his large black head had scars running here and there. He had fur taken from the skin in places, never to be given back. He kept his claws unsheathed, and they too were chipped, but long and thick and deadly. He looked like he had seen many a battle and had fought for survival his whole life, and though most cats would look and be unfit and bedraggled under such conditions, his aura blazed with belligerence. He scented the air and snorted at what he smelled. Revolting... He snarled in his mind But I have finally found.... Found what I have been looking for.

"I'm called Scar." The tom let himself relax. "But I'm guessin' that was obvious already." He flicked his tail towards is old wounded pelt. Catching the faint scent of another cat, but choosing to ignore it for the time being.

WhisperingStar narrowed her eyes at the scent she smelled a little ways a way. Better keep an eye out for that... "Nice to meet you, Scar," Her mew was less hostile. She glanced at him, studying with her green eyes. "Do... Do you perhaps, need anything from me?" She meowed cocking an ear.

Scar looked down at his paws almost bashfully. "Could I maybe join yer clan?" He meowed quickly, wanting to get the question over with; Knowing full well that it he can't fend for himself anymore. "I'm old, so I'll just be another mouth to feed, but I've heard great stories about the clans. I'd like to see it for myself." He glanced up at her.

The leader considered it for a minute, bright green eyes thoughtful. She finally turned back to him, nodding. "Sure. If this is what you need, I will be happy to help you." She offered a slight smile. "And, of course you wont be just another mouth to feed. Clans value every clan member, no matter the way they are." Her smile broadened and she dipped her head to him. "Come, Ill show you to the camp." She flicked her tail

The dark tom lifted his head and stalked throught the undergrowth, striaght towards the leader and the other... He sat down and glanced at them menacingly. His voice was like ditant thunder. "You. Clan cats. Where is she? I know you are hiding her from me..."

"Thanks." The worn down tabby rasped in gratitude; standing up stiffly and getting ready to leave. Catching the sound of the newcomer's meow, Scar lifted his head and met the tom's gaze with a cold fire in his bright green eyes. "Watch your tongue, making assumptions with the wrong cats isn't smart. We ain't hiding no one." Scar replied darkly. Having no idea what this tom was babbling about, he made things up as he went along.

The tom snarled, showing his fangs, but calmed himself down, a crooked smile soon replacing the snarl. "I wouldn't talk so harshly to me either. Seems we might... Get off on the wrong hand if you do, elder." He narrowed his eyes glaring, his pearly white fangs glinted.

Scar merely shrugged nonchalantly, giving the tom a slight smirk. "Of course, I'd hate to offend ya!" His deep and coarse mew rumbled in his throat, despite the fact that he wasn't purring. He rolled his eyes, casting a quick glance at WhisperStar.

WhisperingStar growled, narrowing her eyes at the rogue. "Get off of the TempestClan border, rogue. You have no bussiness here."

"No kiddin'! " Scar meowed in agreement, casting an uncertain gaze onto the rouge. Who are you searching for anyway? He thought, silently.

I walked along the thunderpath not caring that this was temptestClan territory.My calico pelt flowed in the monster wind as it ran past

My torn ear twitch as another monster ran past and knocked me over

"im Cloud" I says standing up "and who might you be?"

"I like walks,and I wanted to walk next to the thunderpath" I say rudely

I sighed "its kind of stupid but I want to see if a can kill a monster" I say

I rolled my eyes and got up "all I really need to do is attack the monsters legs" I say

I nod "ill try my best!" I say continuing on my walk
