The border

HowlingStar padded along the border, the ground marshy beneath his paws. He peered into the unfamiliar and unknown territory. Is this the border with that "RillClan" ? He frowned and marked his scent across his side of the border.

DarkFlicker pads down towards the border, looking over at the unfamiliar territory with curiosity. "SombreClan?" She asks herself. The she marks her scent on the border before casually heading back towards the camp.

The large, silver-tabby leader padded along the border. He sniffed the air then marked his scent. He narrowed his golden yellow eyes in the direction of RillClan.

Duckshine padded along the border. Her golden brown pelt shimmering in the faded sunlight. She pressed her paws, lightly, into the snow, leaving imprints. She glanced down at the imprints then padded further along.

The fawn colored deputy caught sight of the border and padded towards it. The SombreClan deputy padded along the edge of the border, frowning at the scent of RillClan.

The recent snowfall had created yet another thick layer snow upon the grounds where the borders of SombreClan and RillClan meet. SplashPaw ventured near the swamp in search of plants to refill her meager supply of herbs back in the medicine cat den. The snow had covered the scent of borders in the area, making it almost impossible to detect the exact place where the borders crossed. The mc apprentice prayed to StarClan that there weren't any SombreClan warriors patrolling their borders today, or else she would most likely end up as crowfood before sunfall. But then, it wasn't her fault since the border scents were stale and she couldn't tell if she was in SombreClan's territory or not. After all, they would understand, wouldn't they? Hopefully...

The silver-tabby lurked near the borders, in the shadows of the swamp. A rabbit hung from his jaws which he had recently killed. The rabbit was scrawny, but, still prey, prey which would feed his clan-mates. The leader dropped his rabbit and buried it then sniffed the air, narrowing his eyes to the Medicine cat apprentice on the other side.

SplashPaw took no notice that she has been spotted as she continued to look for herbs. A flash of green off in a distance caught her eye which caused a smile to form across her muzzle. Horsetai! It was approximately several fox-lengths away from her, in the area of the swamp which was most likely SombreClan's territory. But it seemed so far but so close to her at the same time, so close that she could cross the border, get the horsetail, and rush back to her own territory if she was careful enough. Seeing horsetail growing in leafbare is as rare as seeing hedgehogs fly! Yes, it is risk worth taking. SplashPaw took a deep breath, glanced around quickly and let her paws bring her to the horsetail plant.

The leader emerged from his spot and kept his eyes narrow. "What are you doing there, apprentice?" The leader meowed in a cool, almost lazy tone, examining her carefully. His golden yellow eyes narrowed as he frowned at the scent of RillClan; the tom not realizing this she-cat was a medicine cat apprentice. His eyes went to the strange colored plant, the horsetail then back to the apprentice. "A medicine cat apprentice, now are we?"

The startled apprentice let out an instinctive yelp as she heard the meow of an unfamiliar feline behind her. Dropping the horsetail, she turned around slowly to face him. As much as Splashpaw was trying to hide it, her body was undoubtedly trembling violently. Oblivious to the fact that this cat was the leader of SombreClan, she backed away from and meowed "W-who are you? I-I'm not t-trespassing...this h-horsetail..I..." You mousebrain! the apprentice silently cursed herself. You literally just gave yourself away. Why are you even training to be a medicine cat? Crap. She's going to end up as crowfood. Splashpaw was more than just sure now.

Darkflicker watched silently in the bushes in her own territory; listening intently and getting ready to race to defend the medicine cat apprentice if things got rough. Great starclan- that's the leader even! Maybe if I see what happens first- She remained still, eyes not moving from the two cats for a second.

DynamicStar signals DarkFlicker to head back to camp whilst he waits to see what happens. The leader of RillClan makes sure he is in favour of the wind and can't be scented.

She frowns at seeing DynamicStar's signal, thinking that he didn't trust her judgment. But she flicks her ear, letting him know that she understood and quietly crept back to camp.

A large, fluffy black she-cat emerged from the shadows. Her pelt gently brushed against the leader of SombreClan's, in a friendly manner. "He never accused you of trespassing, pick up your hearing," she said, coolly. "What if our warriors need the horsetail?" She said, her pale green eyes slightly narrowing to Splashpaw.

Her gaze quickly shifted from the silver tabby tom to the she-cat that had appeared beside him. Now isn't the time to lay down and whimper like a kit. Toughen up, you useless piece of furball, the voice in her head scolded her. "I'd hate to be involved in territorial disputes, but you may want to actually train your warriors to learn how to mark their borders before wasting your time here arguing with a medicine cat apprentice over a horsetail plant," Splashpaw retorted with a flick of her tail, surprised at her own tone. "And perhaps this horsetail was found on RillClan's territory."

The brown she-cat eyed the medicine cat apprentice with interest, but no intentions of harm. "And who was it that forgot to teach this mouse-brained apprentice to put her nose to good use? You were born with it for a reason, you know." She smirked in amusement, seeing what the Rillclan cat would do under the pressure of being surrounded.

The silver-tabby then began to growl, "I had intentions of letting you walk free with the horsetail as you are in fact a medicine cat apprentice, but, it seems your hostility and sudden interest for our disputes has truly put that thought out of my mind. The fact of the matter is, you did cross the border and it takes a warrior with a brain to see that. But, instead of lecturing us on our borders, which you have little knowledge for, perhaps you ought to have listened to your mentor more skillfully, apprentice, Horsetail grows in SombreClan's marsh grounds, not water."

It wasn't her nature to argue. It never had been. Not that she would win an argument over a group of fully grown SombreClan warriors any time soon. But it was that moment when they mentioned her mentor, Roseshine that Splashpaw felt a thousand thorns of pain stabbing at her heart. What do they know about her mentor? Nothing, other than that she was the medicine cat of RillClan and Splashpaw was her apprentice. They were oblivious to the fact that Roseshine had passed away before the medicine cat even had a chance to train her apprentice. But now isn't the time to let emotions get to you and show them that you're weak...

This was the final showdown. The apprentice forced herself to put on a calm, indifferent smile as she turned away to leave without a reply. The horsetail was placed between her jaws while she prayed to StarClan that the warriors would refrain from attacking her.

A familiar cat padded within these borders. Yet she was knew, she padded here confidently. The cat boasts short golden colored fur with small, nimble white paws. A pair of bright, luminous pale green eyes. She looked exactly same as the deceased warrior of Sombreclan.

She marked her scent on the borser, yet her pale green eyes drifted over to the terrtory beyond the border. She felr she‘s been there before, yet, she has no memory of it.

COME SOMBRECLAN WARRIOR COMEEEE. LET IT BE SKMEONE THAT KNEW HER. HOWLY OR PIGGY OR PROUDY OR CUNNH OR SOMETHING.
