Hornet's Nest

A large, sturdy black tom lifted himself up out of the long grass, his yellow eyes on a curious water vole. He watched it for a second, then pounced, the sunlight gleaming off his pelt, making the yellow rings on his tail and legs look like a smoldering flame. "Looks nice. Plump and tasty too," The tom mumbled to himself as he settled in to his meal.

A shy, pure-gray she-cat padded along. Her soft fur gently caught in the chilly wind. She snapped her teeth together and glanced around. SeedStone sniffed the air then flicked her tail side ways.

Dawn padded into the den. "Hi Hornet." The young she-cat mewled.

"Oh hey Dawn. Want to share?" He pushed the partially eaten water-vole towards her. Scenting cats, the fur on his neck began to bristle. "Stay here." Hornet slunk out of the den and faced the intruder, a gray she-cat. He snarled and bared his fangs.

Dawn took a few bites of the vole and snuck to the entrance of the den. The young white she cat peeked out to see Hornet facing a gray she-cat. "Seedstone!" She mewled, padding out.

"You know this intruder? Her name gives her away anyway, she's a Clan cat." Black fur puffed up to twice its size, and yellow rings practically leaping off his fur, Hornet sized up his opponent, preparing to attack.

"Yes, I know her, and she left the Clans. She's a loner like us Hornet." Dawn mewled, trying to stop Hornet from starting a fight.

Hornet glared at Dawn, his anger fading, but not entirely gone. The black tom stalked around SeedStone. "Why did you leave? Why are you here? How do you know her?" He directed his final question at Dawn.

"Well, when I lost track of you I ran into her." Dawn mewled, then began to wonder why she had to explain that to Hornet. The six moon old she-cat hadn't had to do anything like that before.

His anger finally subsiding, Hornet nuzzled Dawn's ear affectionately. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you. I was just angry."

Hornet glamced towards SeedStone, flicking his yellow ringed black tail toward the den. "Eat, I'll keep watch up here." The black Tom padded round the newcomer and sat on a jutting out rock, looking toward four great oaks, interested.

Dawn finished the prey, but she vaguely missed the food she got three times a day. The young she-cat didn't regret leaving though, she was happy out here, she was glad she became Dawn. Once done eating, she fell asleep in her nest.

ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENT-

The ground shakes and rumbles angrily. An Earthquake powerfully moving the ground beneath the creatures. Trees shake, their branches cracking off loudly and falling to the ground with a huge thud.

Dawn awakes with a jump. She stumbles over on the shaking ground, out the den. "What is going on?!!?" She mewls loudly as she trips. Then, a single word rings in her head, Rill... Rill... Rill...

"Dawn? DAWN ARE YOU ALRIGHT? What's happened?" Seeing her expression made Hornet sure something was wrong. "Tell me Dawn."

Hornet was not convinced with this answer so began poking around Dawn. "You're not hurt, nothings on the outside, whats bothering you on the inside?" He lifted a paw and prodded the top of Dawns head.

Dawn yawn widely. "Well, I'm tired... I'm gonna get some sleep." The young loner curled up in her nest and fell asleep. In her dream, she was running towards an unknown place, but the path seemed familiar to her. She passed by the twolegplace, her old home and soon arrived in a place with a large rock in the center, and three groups of cats gathered. A voice spoke to her, "You must come here, find Rill..." She looked around, and pinpointed a starry cat who had spoken. Then the dream vanished, and Dawn woke with a start.

"Yea, I'm fine. Just a weird dream, I'm gonna go for a walk..." Dawn mewled, padding off. She was headed for the place she had seen in her dream. (Say goodbye to Dawn for now Hornet, she's going to the Gathering...)

Dawn turned back around. "Rust are you gonna follow us too?" She asked the kittypet, exasperated that Hornet had to follow her.

Your RC character should be directed to the Gathering. However, other characters should not attend. While Rping it out makes it more fun, if you continue to go "Let's go for a walk! Who wants to come?" then.. Obviously they're going to come and if your character just disappears or runs off, once again.. They're going to follow. You need to be creative.

Dawn slipped out of the den quietly, and vanished into the snow. She ran to the trees in her dream and made it impossible for anyone to follow her.
