Deputy Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch prey gather here beneath the HighRock," ChipmunkStar leaped up on the HighRock, her pale green eyes fixed on her clanmates. "I believe it is a time to now appoint a deputy. This is my choice.....I say these words before StarClan, so the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve my choice. The new deputy of ValiantClan is...." She paused, revealing a warm smile at the selected warrior, "ResoluteStep."

Berrystripe rushed under the high rock to hear the announcement. When the new deputy was named she stood up, "Congratulations ResoluteStep."

"ResoluteStep! ResoluteStep!" The tom cheered, shouting his friend's name. He was happy for the new deputy and had suspected that he would get the rank.

The large, storm hued warrior widened his eyes. A large, proud smile spread across his face. He bowed his head to his leader and began to purr. "Thank you," he said, "I won't let anyone down. I will be the best that I possibly can be."
