Chompers nest Empty Chompers nest

Chompers trotted over across the rocky ground and sniffed the air. His eyes scanned his surroundings as his ear flicks. " There's gotta be a nest somewhere..." He whispered to himself. Chompers was once a kitty-pet but ran away after he got sick from the same dry food. This is his first day as a loner so he continues searching for a new place to stay. Chompers looked straight and stopped padding as a smooth, stone, weird looking mini cave caught his sight. It was nice and formed a perfect mouth-like entrance. On the side of the perfect cave lay a bundle of moss as if some cat had been here. He padded closer to the cave and picked up the moss bundle. He purred as he enjoyed how squishy it was. He loved chewing. But he didn't let that waste his time. He padded in the smooth cave and set the moss bundle down for his bedding at the very end of his new home. Chompers finally got the chance to bend down for a sniff. He smelled nothing but the air. He sniffed one more time. Mouse scent filled his nostrils. He didn't know how to hunt exactly, so he just decided to crouch. He carefully moved closer to where the mouse hid, behind a few pebbles, and prepared his leap. As he leaped, he was afraid he might scare the mouse. Instead he blinked once, then stared down at his paws that held down the mouse. He felt proud of himself for learning so fast. He bit its neck and carried it back in the small, smooth cave. He sniffed the mouse and then he feasted on it, as if he never ate before. Chompers ears pricked, his eyes grew wide, and his nose twitched. Mouse tasted delicious! He loved it! "I will certainly LOVE my new life..." He mewed.

A wounded midnight black cat limped past, he sighted a small boulder and approached it. He leaned against it and began to rest his severely wounded leg. His cold yellow eyes ran across his leg, the wound was deep and still heavily bleeding. He masked the pain on his expression.

The brown tabby smirked, watching the tom. "Having a bit of trouble?"
