ChipmunkStar‘s Den.

The lean, lithe pale brown leader padded in with fresh moss in her jaw. She carefully placed down the moss, briskly making a comfortable nest. After she finished, she sat down, grooming her dark brown streaked pale brown fur. Though she had accepted her nine lives from StarClan, she was still bewildered, confused, and shocked of what happened. She couldn't believe how NightmareStar left with no notice. She slowly shook her head, flattening her large brown ears as she collected her thoughts together,, her pale green eyes looking thoughtful.

The fluffy ginger apprentice marched up to the entrance. A scrawny mouse in his jaws. He felt pathetic, bringing the leader such a small boney item of prey, but, it was so hard to find anything plump. The apprentice entered and placed the mouse down. "I thought you might of been hungry," he said.

She lifted her head, her pale green eyes brightening ay the sight of her best friend. "PreyPaw," she meowed, revealing a warm smile. She glanced at the mouse, purring lightly. "Thanks. Have you eat yet?"

He shook his head, "No," he said, "Not yet. I was just going to do a bit more hunting then fetch something for myself and CreekStorm." The fluffy ginger apprentice smiled, content with the plan. "How are you finding your new rank?" He asked.

She gently flicked him with her tail, "Remember to rest, too." She meowed. She flicked her ears, "I'm not use to it yet, but, I am getting use to it." She admitted. "I do feel I don't deserve this rank. I wasn't even deputy for a very long time."

Preypaw smiled and gently nudged her with his shoulder. "Nightmarestar felt you deserved it," he said, "And that's what matters. If it wasn't meant to happen, it wouldn't of. Don't doubt yourself."

She lightly laughed, a smile spreading across her muzzle. She leaned gently against the apprentice. "It's time for you to be a warrior," she meowed. "I will do your ceremony, soon." She purred, lightly.

Berrystripe walked into camp and towards Chipmuckstar's den, she had a report to make about a dead mouse. It was possible that Vengeance or SilentKit had killed the mouse seeing as they were rogues who just joined, but she felt the need to tell Chipmuckstar just in case it wasn't them and there was an intruder in the territory.

"Chipmuckstar?" She called outside of the den. "I have a report to make about my hunt with Lakefrost and Ravenpaw." She explained, waiting outside for her leader to invite her into the den to explain the dead mouse they had found.

ResoluteStep entered with a plump mouse. He glanced up to BerryStripe then placed down the mouse in the leader's nest and quickly left.

"Thank you," she purred after ResoluteStep. She glanced at BerryStripe, bowing her head. "What‘s wrong?"

Berrystripe walked into the den and stood there. "We didn't find an intruder but we found a dead mouse today on our hunt, so we buried it." She paused allowing all the information to sink it before she finished, "It's possible Vengeance or Silent had made the kill, but I just thought you should know what we found today."

She nodded, slowly. "Was it rogue scent, or clan cat scent?" Sge asked, sharply.

"The scent was really close to Vengeance." Berrystripe replied back to her leader.

She nodded, "Thank you. I'll asj him about it." She purred, lightly.

Have you received permission from Veng to say he killed the dead amouse?

(Nova suggested it in our thread that it was either Vengeance or Silent and I just asked her on the chatbox and she told me Vengeance.)

Berrystripe nodded to her leader and turned and left the den.

CreekStorm ran in, whining and whimpering, her fluffy ears were flat. "PREYJAW IS HURT!" She wailed, tears rolled down her fluffy cheeks. "O-Oh! I'm sorry!" She blurted out, realizing she had interrupted something important, "I'll go check on him and tell you how he is soon!" And with that, the fluffy ragdoll darted away,

She stared at CreekStirm, worrued for PreyJaw. She shifted and glanced at NightShadow, "Yes?"

ChipmunkStar was silent as sge slowly mused over what he said. "Well," she meowed, eyeing the tom. She circled him, slowly, then bowed her gead. "I respect your decision, NightShadow." She said at last. "You are a fine warrior. I wish you well." She gently flicked her tail at him, but sorrow gleamed in her eyes,

ChipmunkStar lowered her gead as thoughts rapidly flew in her mind at once. Another warrior gone...,

The large, storm hued deputy entered with a small bird- a jay, in fact. "A-Are you okay, ChipmunkStar?" He said, softly, worry burned in his golden eyes. "You seem so...Sad lately." He placed down the bird at her paws and then sat down beside her. "I'm your friend, your deputy, I'm always here if you need me," he said, "Always."

She hesitated, she stiffened and flattened her ears. She trusted ResoluteStep. He was such a great deputy, and a best friend, just like CreekStorm and Preyjaw. He and PreyJaw were both starting to take the place of her other best friend, the one that SnakeHIss use to be. Slowly she leaned against him, her pale green eyes dark and her ears flattened. "NightShadow is gone, too." She said at last. She didn't know how to say it. She wanted to admit she felt like a terrible leader. She watned to admit that his departure was reminding her of SnakeHiss. Instead, the pale brown leader closed her eyes and slowly shook her head.

ResoluteStep lowered his gaze then smiled and licked her forehead in attempt to reassure her. "Sometimes," he said, "Sometimes a cat's path changes and their loyalties change, too. It is how StarClan works," he meowed. "You cannot keep a cat from following it's path, even if you'll miss them or even if you were their friend. It is hard, but, it is just how StarClan works. Everything will always get better in the end, even if it doesn't seem likely. You shouldn't take Nightshadow's departure and blame yourself for it, ChipmunkStar. You're an amazing leader and certainly the best in this forest. It is not your fault that Nightshadow's loyalties changed or that his path has been altered." He pressed his storm hued pelt against hers and gently purred, his purr dull.

She smiled vaguely, and her nose gently nudged Resolute‘s ear. "Thank you," she meowed at last. "You're a great friend." She purred quietly.

ResoluteStep grinned and swiped a paw out at the leader's ears. "I'll let you eat your prey," he meowed as he stood up and began to walk away. "I'll see you soon, ChipmunkStar," he meowed.

She dragged the prey to her, and called out, "See you soon!" She took a small breath iin before lowering her head to eat.

Brightspirit poked her head in the den. Not saying anything, awaiting the leaders reply. What if she says no. Brightspirit thought. Would she go back to being alone? Brightspirit shook her head to clear the thoughts.

The calico long-furred warrior pushes past the female warrior that was in his past and looks at his leader-"Chipmunkstar. I need guidance."-he bows his head in deep respect. He was out of breath from running around outside of the camp. He smelt of prey, he must have been hunting. He needed answers on his choice-

A bouncy ragdoll galloped in, carrying a fat rabbit. She dumped it in the leader's nest and hurried away.

Chipmunkstar padded in, stretching slightly. She smiled at the sight of the plump rabbit, finishing it wihth a few hungry bites.
