Camp entrance

Sandcloud let out a small laugh at how gentle the tom said that. "It's ok Purekit, come on out." She purred gently and reached down into the bush and gently lifted the kit from the hiding spot. The young warrior's tone was extremely queen-like, which was not so strange coming from the sand colored she.

She looked up at him her beautiful reddish orange gaze filled with sudden curiosity.

The large tom stretched out a big night-hued paw--paw pads facing up, and his claws sheathed completely, as well as his body language showing he meant no harm. "It's alright. I just wanted to talk with someone, and I saw both of you here. I didn't mean to frighten you." He explained to Purekit.

"Its alright, im just a little touchy around new cats" she said in her usual hushed tone.

Still purring slightly, Sandcloud gently set down the kit. "Our Clanmates have been becoming scarce lately..." The warrior sighed, her eyes clouding slightly. Heatflow had been the first to vanish after all.

Slowly retracting his paw again, and getting up, he smiled. "Okay. I'll make sure not to approach so hastily again." He said to the kit, and then looked up to Sandcloud. He looked to her with a sorrowful gaze once again. "I'm sorry.." He said, his eyes drifting away as he thought of Heatflow.

"What happened to them?" she asked her tail swishing across the ground in curiosity.

Pantherleap opened his mouth to answer, but shut it as he thought of what to say. "Honestly, I don't know.." He said truthfully, picking at a root beneath his claw.

"Really?" she said tilting her head. Thats odd... she thought quietly her gaze glancing downwards.

"I don't either... And don't give me much sympathy Pantherleap, Heatflow was one of the first that vanished..." Sandcloud mewled in response, her voice faltering when she spoke of the former deputy.

"Did something take him? Or did he just... Vanish?" she asked glancing up.

"Yes.. it is.." The jet-black tom said, wondering about what had happened to him. Hearing the she-cat's words, he looked down to his paws, flicking an ear when he heard the kits question. "We have no real clues, I don't think.." He meowed.

"Yea... He was here one day and then just... poof, gone..." Sandcloud could feel tears swelling in her brown eyes. The ache of losing her mate, the very first cat who made her feel welcomed, was still too new for her to speak of it.

Suddenly a thought came into his mind. "Twolegs?" He suggested with alarm.

"I doubt it... He would never go close enough to one to get caught." Sandcloud whimpered slightly, hoping her last slither of hope that Heatflow would come back would survive the rest of the conversation.

Pantherleap touched his tail tip to her shoulder in comfort. "Still, he may have escaped from whatever took him?" He proposed, trying to make Sandcloud feel better. He thanked StarClan silently that Shadefeather would be safe, whether in the paws of Copperclaw or not.

"T-that's what I've been hoping for..." She whimpered, and a tear rolled down her cheek. "H-Heatflow was the very first cat that made me feel welcomed here." Sandcloud sniffled, trying to keep herself together.

Sorrow washed over him, as well as sympathy for his clanmate. "It's alright.. we can talk about something else if you want." Pantherleap suggested, a gentle tone once again in his voice.

"Y-yea... Any other topic." Sandcloud sniffled as more tears began to flow. The sand colored she-cat had truly loved her mate, and now that he was gone, she was heartbroken. Memories of their hunting trip and when he asked her to be his mate weaved through her thoughts, making her even more upset.

Purekit listened quietly, she had lost so much also. Her mother. Her brother and sister, who were mauled in front of her. Her best friend Cherry that was killed by a badger. Her friend Rosekit from Sombreclan. It wasn't fair for all this to happen to her. She understood what the Shecat was feeling. She crawled close to her and touched her nose to her paw to get her attention.

"Y-yes Purekit?" Sandcloud sniffled, looking down to the kit. Her brown eyes were swimming with deep sorrow. The young warrior was struggling to turn her thoughts away from the topic, although she was desperately trying.

"I understand whats happening. Ive lost a lot too... Its hard to move on. But your going to have to someday because who you've lost would want you to. I know my siblings, my mother, my best friend, they'd want me to. So i did. Look where im at now, im going to mean something. Are you going to grieve forever or are you going to mean something to your family? Because your clan is your family" She said looking up with her copper gaze.

Pantherleap widened his eyes. The kit had said something a wise elder or a senior warrior would have said. Listening to her words, he frowned, and his eyes dulled as if a memory was giving him great pain to remember. He thought of when he was first born--his mother had died giving birth to him, and his brother died a quarter-moon later as he was too weak. But Pantherkit survived. And he got to become an apprentice. He became a warrior. Why did he not get to experience any of that? It's not fair! After he thought this, he tried to push away his thoughts. He and our mother are happy in StarClan now, they are at peace. He told himself, and shook his head vigorously as if to ruffle his fur. Really, he was trying to get his mind off of it.

OOC: I randomly made up a sad past to explain why Pantherleap has no family in TC and yet somehow he's in the clan. I figured that I created too many rogue pasts. xD

(OOC: Aww D: well, Purekit went through a lot. Abandoned, watching her siblings mauled in front of her, getting attacked by a rouge, finally finding a friend her age only to have that friend be slaughtered by a badger. Then she finally found a clan and family, only to be exiled from the clan for standing up for family. She found her mother, with her throat sliced out. She finally found her father, only to leave to go to TC. Sad history, no?)

Purekit glanced over at Pantherleap "You ok?" she said her eyes showing concern.

OOC: Yeah! That's like two million times worse than Frostpaw and Pantherleap's pasts combined! D': (Frostpaw got separated from her brother when she was a kit because a dog was chasing them, she tried to cross the Thunderpath after her brother got to the other side safely, and she got hit by the monster coming by. Horrified, her brother didn't want to leave her there but the dog was about to kill him, so he was forced to run or he would die and so would his sister, so he distracted the dog and although the dog got close enough to maul his cheek, he ran and eventually was safe. He couldn't find his sister after trying to go back, and he got lost. She was found by TC, and they took her back to help her but her hind leg was broken. She took a great interest in herbs, and eventually became the medicine apprentice. However, she later remembered her brother and couldn't leave him. She was well enough to almost run, so she told her mentor in the middle of the night that she was leaving the clan, as she had to find her family in case he was alive. Sadly, they parted ways, and she became a loner. Pantherleap you know about now. xD)

Looking to Purekit, he sighed. "I-I guess I am. I was just thinking about.. something. That's all." He said, glancing at the camp to see if there was anyone else there yet.

"Arent we all?" she sighed her eyes growing dull. No herb in the world could cure the worst pain in the world. Loneliness. Abandonship. Loss.


OOC: Thats sad :C I was thinking after Blazespirit dies Purekit/paw/sprit would fall into depression. What do you think?

Pantherleap nodded once again, and looked away, to the forest trees over the shelter of the ditch-like area of the camp.

(Yea. Sandcloud got separated from her family when she was 5 moons, so she had to teach herself how to hunt and fight. Luckily her family is still alive, just far away...)

Sandcloud sighed at the kit's words. "I have been trying, but after I was separated from my family when I was little, Hea- he was the first person to make me feel like I belonged..." The ginger warrior could not say her mate's name another time, though she did try. "It seems like we've all lost cats close to us..." She perceived.

Closing his eyes in sympathy for both Purekit and Sandcloud, and remembering his own past. It was nothing compared to the two cats around him, however. He bowed his head as his eyes closed. "Yes, we have." He said, calmly.

"I learned to move on with one step at a time, each step is hard, but it gets easier as you go. One step made, one step closer, a little bit better... Sometimes you will trip, but you have to get up and continue walking" she said looking at them both.

"Tripping... That's exactly what I'm doing. I was fine but then we started talking about lost Clan members... Heatflow was the first of them, which is why I got upset..." Sandcloud mewled in response, still sniffling slightly.

"I want you to get up and walk it off... We will find him again, so do NOT let yourself think that its all over" she said in fierceness her eyes locked with hers.

"I doubt it... He's been gone for moons, I'll jump out of my pelt if I ever get to see him again." Sandcloud sighed, thinking the first three words (OOC: the ones in tiny letters) to herself. The young warrior could feel more tears coming. I need to move on, but I just can't...  She thought sadly.

"Its ok" Purekit said quietly looking up at the she cat. She sighed and sat down next to her.
