"You remember how i got lost when i was six moons? Well, I ended up wandering into the Clan's territory and they let me join Tempestclan. It's way different than the life as a loner, and I'm rather happy there. I'm glad to see you and Berry though. My name is Sandcloud now though." Sandcloud explained to her father.

Sandcloud sighed. I remember my dad's kind of prickly... She thought, gazing after her father. She turned back to Berry. "Now, what did you smell?" The ginger she-cat asked her.

"I scented your Clan, but a toms scent as well. Can we have a look?" Berry explained what she'd scented and looked at SandCloud for permission.

Sandcloud scented the air and froze. "Oh Starclan..." She muttered. "That's my leader's scent..." She told Berry. "He probably won't be so happy with me..." The ginger warrior shook her head.

(oops. Sandcloud wasn't paying attention to scents really, so that's how she didn't catch it i guess... Just trying to make it so it kinda makes sense how...)

She's on a border, she's a clan-cat, she should be paying attention to the scents and evem if she isn't, she should still be able to scent cats from her own clan better than a rogue can. Come on, guys. I leave for a few days and the unrealistic levels of roleplay go skyhigh.
