The walk

HowlingStar walked through, his long belly-fur catching on the long yellowy grass.

She bumped against him and shyly smiled. "So, why did you do it? Why did you save me?" She stared down at her paws as she walked.

He came to a halt, a warm smile revealed across his muzzle. "I wouldn't have just left you there," he said, his ears slowly began to flatten, "I couldn't watch you get hit by a monster." He shook his head and continued to pad forward. "You seem kind and caring," he meowed.

She shuffled her paws and nervously brushed her nose across his cheek. "Thank you," she said. "I don't really know much about monsters and thunderpaths. Or clans, for that matter. I've been alone since.. Since I can remember."

HowlingStar flattened his ears, deciding not to push the she-cat further. "Sure," he meowed. "Do you have a favorite prey? I personally enjoy rabbits."

HowlingStar came to a halt and gently nuzzled the she-cat. "Let me hunt us a rabbit, then, we can share it," he tilt his head. A deep purr rumbled in his throat.

She blushed then slowly shook her head. "No," she meowed, "I'll hunt us a rabbit. You saved me, it's the least I could do." She bumped into him, teasingly, "Sit."

HowlingStar felt hot beneath his pelt but he obeyed the she-cat and sat down, his eyes locked on her with such curiosity and interest. "If you insist," he meowed with a smile.

She closed her eyes, briefly as she scented the air. Her eyes opened and she scanned the grounds for prey. In the near distance, she picked up the movement of a small brown creature. A rabbit! Plump and juicy by the looks of it, too! He'll like this.. She thought to herself before silently stalking the rabbit. She silently stalked it then leaped at it once close enough. She padded back to him with it proudly in her jaws. (sorry, not sure what I was doing.. xD)

He rose to his paws as she approached and grinned delightedly. "That was an amazing catch," he said, "You hunt beautifully."

She blushed and dropped the rabbit at his paws. "Thank you," she said, "Would you like to take the first bite?"

HowlingStar eyed up the rabbit and lowered his head. He sunk his teeth into the flesh and grinned as the blood ran into his mouth. He chewed the fresh meat and nodded in satisfaction. "Very tender and juicy," he said as he pushed the rabbit back to Butterfly.

She felt a rush of pride as she began to nibble at the rabbit. "It is very tasty," she meowed. She shyly gazed up at HowlingStar, blushing.

HowlingStar swallowed the rabbit then cheekily leaped at Butterfly, nipping at her ears. A playful smile splattered across his muzzle.

She rolled onto her back and swiped at his nose, giggling loudly. "You're such a fat tom!" She teased as she poked his stomach with her paw.

He chuckled loudly; like thunder on a stormy sunrise. "Am I, now? Well, I think you're a smelly badger!" He smirked and pressed his nose firmly to Butterfly's cheek.

He licked her cheek, "So are you." He rolled off the she-cat and rose to his paws, his ears flat. "I need to go," he meowed. "My clan will be wondering where I am." His expression dull, "I'm sorry. I'll be back," he meowed.

She quickly scrambled to her paws and flattened her ears. "Do you have to?" She stared down at her paws.

HowlingStar pressed his pelt against Butterfly's and slowly nodded. "I do," he said, sadly. "I promise I'll return, though." He licked her cheek and began to pad back to his territory.

She whimpered and darted after him. She pressed her muzzle to his shoulder, "I'll be waiting here" She said. "I'll miss you," she whispered under her breath.

A deep purr rumbled in his throat as he nuzzled your ear. "Butterfly?" He flattened his ears and pressed his dark silver fur to yours, "I'm in love with you," he said as he shyly lowered his head; having never muttered those words to another cat before. "It's forbidden for me to love you, to feel this way about you..But, I can't help it. You're so perfect in ways one could not imagine. It's as though.. The only thing that could hurt me, is to be away from you." (THROW IN A OAKHEART QUOTE. xDD)

She felt her heart race, tears of delight came to her amber eyes. "HowlingStar," she sobbed as she pressed up against him. "I'm in love with you too," she stepped back and sighed. "I've never felt like this before either.. Your clan..They would be so angry at you for coming here..For being with me." Her ears flattened.

He flattened his ears and nodded. "I know," he said. The tom lifted his head and gazed into the sky, a frown crossed his expression. "Speaking of which.. I must go, it's getting late and I have a patrol. My warriors would wonder what has become of me," he sighed. "I'll return soon, I promise." The tom nuzzled her then nimbly darted off into the shadows. O_O
