Apprentice ceremony

HowlingStar leaped up to the Highbranch, his whiskers twitched, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Hightree for a clan meeting!" He called, his voice echoing through the Camp. His silver tabby tail flicked across his paws as he stared down to the cats bellow. "AwryKit, HonestyKit, please come forward. This is a proud day for SombreClan, by naming apprentices we show SombreClan will survive and remain strong. From now on until you receive your warrior name you will be known as AwryPaw and HonestyPaw." HowlingStar revealed a proud smile as his eyes drifted from the apprentices to MiseryCloud and RainingStorm. "MiseryCloud, RainingStorm, it is time you both had an apprentice. MiseryCloud, you will mentor HonestyPaw. RainingStorm, you will mentor AwryPaw. I know you will pass on your determination and your bravery to these apprentices and teach them the skills that will make them both brave warriors of SombreClan!"

"Awrypaw! Honestypaw! Awrypaw! Honestypaw!" Chestnutpool chanted, a proud yet distant gaze in her eyes.

RainingStorm purred in pleasure before calling the new apprentices names. "AwryPaw HonestyPaw!"

She yowled. "HonestyPaw! AwryPaw!" I wonder, she thought, Is he finally going to tell the kits?

MISSY IS A SPECIAL KITTY.,

AwryPaw raised her chin proudly on hearing the others chant her name, a proud grin crossing her muzzle.

HowlingStar darted down and licked Awry and Honesty on the forehead.

The dark blue-ish black tom let out a loud cheer of delight. "Yay!" He meowed, "I'm an apprentice!" He peered up at HowlingStar and brushed his head against his pelt. "Thank you," he said.

HowlingStar released a loud purr. "Anytime, so-," he halted. Did I nearly say son!? I can't let it slip! Not now! "Anytime," he repeated. "Now, go off and train." He bowed his head.

Chestnutpool tilted her head at her leader's strange behavior, but decided to ignore it, happiness warming her heart as she watched the new apprentices.

HowlingStar flattened an ear then slowly padded to the camp to find his mate.

"Howl," she meowed as she met up with him. She licked his cheek. "Are you okay?" She glanced to HonestyPaw and AwryPaw. "Well done, you two. You'll make excellent warriors."

HowlingStar rest his head on Butterfly's, releasing a loud purr; loud like thunder. "I am good now that you are here," he said, licking her cheek. "Let's hunt?" He said, smiling contently.

She blushed at his touch, her eyes closed briefly. "Sound's good. You know," she said, "It has been a long time since we went hunting together." She pressed her pelt against his then padded off to the Maple.

He slightly smirked, licking her cheek. "I think so, too," he said.
